Decibel new music ensemble and Tura invites you to celebrate the release of Speechless — Cat Hope’s powerful 2019 opera, performed with Decibel and produced by Tura as part of Perth Festival in 2019 and now released internationally by Swiss label Hat Hut.
This Listening Session is curated by Decibel members Cat Hope, Tristen Parr, Aaron Wyatt, Stuart James and Lindsay Vickery who will be present at the celebration Across the afternoon, ensemble members will take turns selecting tracks, including music from Speechless and other Decibel albums.
The event also features a live interview with composer and Decibel Artistic Director Cat Hope.

About the Album
Produced by Tura and recorded live at the Sunset Heritage Precinct during its world premiere season in 2019, Speechless is a wordless opera composed by Cat Hope for four vocal soloists, bass orchestra and community choir.
The work is a protest in response to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s report The Forgotten Children: National Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention, overseen by Gillian Triggs.
